Hi,
I know that the color chart for Red Laced Blue Wyandottes is this:
Blue X Blue = 50% Blue, 25% Black, 25% Splash
Blue X Splash = 50% Blue, 50% Splash
Blue X Black = 50% Blue, 50% Black
Splash X Black = 100% Blue
Black X Black = 100% Black
Splash X Splash = 100% Splash
What I want to do, is produce lots of blue hens.
I bought 8 chickens from McMurrys and ended up with 7 splash hens and 1 blue rooster !!!
So If I breed the blue roo with a spash hen, I should get some blue hens/roos.
Then if I breed one of the blue hens with a blue roo (which I already have), will I get black even though that wasn't originally in the mix?
If I can get to a black roo, then I can breed it with my existing splash hens to always get blue!!!
What hard work!
thanks, James
