Red Lake Earth DE...using it?

Well, in our rural area outside of Vancouver, I will be able to find the brand Red Lake Earth DE, which contains DE as well as the other volcanic ash ingredient.

I'm wondering if any of you use it, are you finding it successsful for parasite control if dusted onto your birds for that purpose? I do know it is safe in their food, at the rate of 2% total feed, but I would like it to serve the added purpose of keeping my chooks free of lice and mites, inside and outside of their coop.

Any feedback on its' effectiveness?

I haven't yey found a local source of the other 100% DE I see posted about on BYC...

I know people on BYC use it and have had good luck with it. That's what my local feed store carries, they just started carrying it a few months ago. I plan on buying a bag next week.
