Red line on duckling's bill

I just noticed a red line on one of my duckling's bills. It runs more or less perpendicular to its mouth, on top, about 1/2 inch long.

Any ideas what it is?

It's already gone. I guess I'm just a nervous new parent...

I am glad that it proved to be nothing. It's good that you are a "nervous parent" keeping aware of your ducks' normal appearance & behavior is your first line of defense if anything ever does go wrong. Enjoy your new ducks they are wonderful critters to have around.
