Red Mite HELP!!!!

Hi Everyone

We are inundated with Red Mite. We have two houses within the same coop that the chickens share & they are both crawling with them. I've jet washed & jet washed & jet washed some more, but each time I look back there's more! I'm losing the will to live! I've also used the powder suggested. Has anybody got any ideas to help me. We have some 3 week old chicks in another house within the coop & my fear is that they will spread to them. They are enclosed with their mum in a run inside the coop.

Mites are very difficult to eliminate. You will need a pyrethrum spray or spinosad / elector. The birds need to treated and you need to remove all bedding and spray down the entire coop. You will need to do it all over again in 10 days. Be sure to spray every nook and cranny .

Yes, I used a pyrethrum based spray and drenched the perches and coop . If you have visiting wild birds or vermin unfortunately your birds can be reinvested with mites and or lice.
