Hi Abby, Probably a good time to start them on grower feed, but I would use up the rest of the starter feed first.

Thank you so much I will be sure to get some but is there any particular kind of grower feed (they are laying hens)

Chick starter for baby chicks, Grower feed for 8 weeks old to until they start laying eggs, then Layer feed when they are laying eggs. When they are laying eggs, they will also need oyster shells.

The chick starter you are using is probably identified as such on the bag. Grower feed, and layer feed will also be identified on the bag.

Good luck and Welcome to BYC

Grower/Finisher would be the right stuff to switch to. I then change to layer food about 16-20 weeks just before they start laying. Have done this for year won't hurt them a bit.
