one coop at the Red Roof Hens is done. Yea will have to add a ladder to the nest box but done with chickens already in.

thats a dream come true...my god Im trying to keep mine dry right now!!! we are on day one of 4 days severe rain...my poor babies I have to catch them and lock them up in there coop, they hate it...and then I have my buffs in a dog crate kennel locked in there 11 of them...with a tarp....we hadnt built them a coop yet...DH works alot...

yea I got tried for the mud and the stink of wet chick poo. And my husband said if I was going to have them we where going to build something that would make it easy to care for them. I have plans to build a big run out the back door to let each breed out at different time but that is down the road right now the coop will be big enough for them and always dry yea.

I love it so far can not wait to get the whole thing done.

I absolutely love this design!! I'm in Virginia - I wonder how I could make a design like this one work in the winter months. Any thoughts?

I was thinking if it gets to cold here I would but white plastic around the outside walls to block the wind. But we do not have very cold winters here.

That is just awesome. I wish I could do something more open like that but we do have harsh winters and wind chills. I would love to move south someday.

I do think I am going to do tin on my new run.
