That is not a prolapse of course after seeing a clear picture. Could she have had her feathers picked out by another hen?

Some antipick lotions, or a bad tasting ointment such as Nustock or Bag Balm from the feedstore may keep anyone from pecking her. BluKote can cover up the redness to reduce pecking, but the eggs will be stained with blue. When feathers start to regrow, they will be very attractive if there is a picker. If her abdomen is painful from a possible reproductive issue, she could be picking her own feathers. Pictures of chickens with peritonitis and ascites, or tumors show reddened featherless bottoms. Here is a good article by Sumi about egg quality problems: https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/common-egg-quality-problemsI haven't seen any of the others peck at her. The roosters don't even go after her like a few of the other hens, so she's not missing any feathers on her head or wings. Before June I thought maybe she was roosting in a nesting box instead of on a bar. But when my younger 9 got old enough to put in with the older ones, they would roost on the bars in front of the nesting boxes at night. I think because they were higher up & felt safer. Since then I see her roosting on the bars with the others.
I agree.I would dust her with poultry dust or 5% Sevin and treat they area that she roosts in with the same or a spray. DE won't do anything!
