red sex links

Well, I read that they use leghorns, which would make sense, since Leghorns are the best white egg layers and RIR's are the best brown. My girls are incredible egg layers. I expect one everyday from them.

If you want to be able to sex them by feather or down colour at hatching you have to do a cross that will allow that. If your looking for a good layer only then crossing to leghorns will be great, but you have to raise them all to see who is who.

Sex link is created by crossing several ways, but with the red roos the most common is to a female that has silver factor. The resulting pullet chicks will be red buff in down and feather out red, the males will be yellow and feather out white.
