Red Silkie Questions NEW QUESTION!

I am wondering (and I am just wondering, not looking to buy) if there are Silkie breeders working on really nice quality red silkies. I know ideal has them but they are pet quality to say the least. I was just wondering if there are any efforts in the silkie world to get red or any other new color approved?

Adam, I don't know of anyone working on red. The red ones tend to have more black in the tail and that if the color they are tring to breed out of the buffs. I think a good quality Red with a black tail would be pretty if all the black feathers were silkie and not hard.

Ok how would one create a dark mahogany red silkie with a black tail. What would you cross it with to get the color? A RC Bantam RIR?
