red star/ black star---sexing

I have many black stars and red stars (golden comets, sexlinks what ever you prefer to call them)

Any tips for sexing them, they are all about the same size. They are about two yrs old!

Any help would be great!!

a black sex link rooster looks nothing like the hens.... the hens are blak with some red around the neck but the roosters look nothing like that

A Black sexlink roo looks much like a Barred Rock with cuckoo barring and the hens are basically solid black with red in the hackle area.
A red sexlink rooster is white with red around the pyle areas. The hens are orangey or reddish with white around the hackles.
There is no trick. That's what sexlinked is-completely different looking sexes in that hybrid.

Note: Golden Sex Links and Red Sex Links are different creatures. But you are correct that "Red Star", "Red Sex Link", etc. are pretty interchangeable.

They're about 2 years old? I would think it would be pretty obvious who's who by now.
