Same as my other black star post what do You breed to get a red star. I think its a RIR rooster with a leghorn rooster and can you breed a red star roo with a red star hen and get a red star.

I can guarantee that you won't get a Red Star anything if you breed a RIR rooster with a leghorn rooster.

I am interested too, because I have 7 red star eggs (both hens and roo) that are due to hatch any day! My neighbor gave them to us to hatch- I wonder what they will be/look like!

I think that red stars are just a fancy name for a red sex-link.

Red Sex-Links are the result of various crosses. White Rocks with the silver factor (the dominant white gene would produce all white offspring) are crossed with a New Hampshire male to produce the Golden Comet.
Silver Laced Wyandotte crossed with New Hampshire gives the Cinnamon Queen.
Two other crosses are obtained with Rhode Island White x Rhode Island Red, and Delaware x Production Red.
These two crosses are simply called Red Sex-Links. Males hatch out white and, depending on the cross, feather out to pure white or with some black feathering. Females hatch out buff or red also depending on cross, and they feather out in one of three ways.

Allmost for got..
I think if you cross a RIR rooster with a Leghorn hen you will get something close to a production red..

Except to get sex links you'd need to breed them the other way round.
