Red vents

I'm on day 21 with no pipping. In a hovaBator 1583. I filled trough 2 as per the instructions and done have a way to measure humidity. Two questions: should I try to top op the water using a straw and syringe through the vent hole? I am figuring the troughs may dry out before they hatch at this rate. Also should I have the vent plug out yet? Thanks so much!

I had to add way more water than what the trough held. I had to add caps of water all around and I soaked some clean rags, to get my humidity to the minimum...I noticed just a few beads of water on the glass, so that became my visual check as well as the hydrometer...and I took the vent plugs out at lick down. Good luck!!
