My coop is falling apart. A large housing area is being constructed nearby and nasty rodent critters are looking for new hangouts. I can no longer procrastinate. Darn. The existing coop is an L-shape. There is an orange tree in front of it. As I am going from 2 to 4 chickens, I'd like to enlarge it. I can move the right side, with Sway, the yellow chicken, forward a foot or two and widen it another foot. This is the side the chicken have been laying their eggs. Should I keep the gap from the fence to the coop? Will chickens destroy the fence if they are right next to it? If thje chickens are allowed to roam around the orange tree daily, will their poop hurt the tree? Do chickens benefit from a taller roof, or is that just easier for people? The left side has the blue door. Pics attached with it open and closed. Chickens don't lay there. Not private enough? So i just put another water there. Any and all help is more than welcome!
