So i want to redesign my coop that has two chickens and heres what i was thinking:
i could take all the tiles off and make an A frame on the grass and put the nesting box at the end of the coop and put tiles around the outside so no predators could dig in. Any ideas??? Heres my coop right now:

I tend to be of the school of "Build it right, Build it once". This attitude towards fabrication usually ends up costing you a bit $$ more on the front end, but in the long run will last much longer and give worry-free peace of mind the whole way. I think could, for less than $150, you could put a nice A frame tactor-style coop together. You could certainly salvage the hinges, latches, and some of the wood from your existing coop.
As far as predator protection goes, chances are, unless you live deep in the sticks, that as long as your coop is secure and they are locked in every night, the run sitting flush on the ground should suffice. Here's a pic of an A-frame tractor coop perfect for 2 chickens:

best of luck. post some picks when the revamp is complete!!

Thanks love the picture.. Any more ideas??? Starting on it tomorrow

My only other advice is to keep in mind that usually chicken owners add to their flock. If you have 2 chickens now, chances are that, over time, you'll want more. It's a good idea to build bigger than what you initially need so that when the time comes and you want to add to your flock, you aren't faced with the same dilema you have now.
also, (and I'm sure that you already know this, but...) make sure to build an access door on the back of the A frame coop to egg gather/clean.

Have fun building!!

My first advice would be get rid of that chicken wire! It protects against nothing, so basically they are sitting in an open box. After that it is a cute design, what is it you don't like? what are you feeling it's not providing. The A-frame coop idea shown is really nice idea.

I know it is a very nice design, but I am having problems with the rain, and the way the coop is built, it would be hard to manage them in the winter. Also there are tons of holes on the sides, and when I make the A frame coop, that would be covered with wood and would be the shelter area. Also as you can see there is no run, so I am making the new coop have a run and in grass. The shelter area in the new coop would have bricks covered with pine shavings. On the back of the shelter area would have the door from the original coop. I am not working on the coop today but I will tomorrow because it's 100 degrees out and I need to have a full day to work on the coop so I can get half of it done in one day, or even more, so they can stay safe for the night till the next day... I will post pics and I will keep you guys updated.
