Umm my fences are only 6 feet high. I'm in trouble, lol.

Neither of mine went up just out. A steep hill is the only way she ended up high in the air. We only have 4 foot fences in the woods and none of mine have ever gotten out

As far as peasants, I once saw on a show that there are some English land owners who pay someone to live in a hovel on their estate and "dress the part" of a hermit to entertain their guests who visit. Different culture I guess.

Good to know. My two males managed to get over a 4ft fence to get back to the girls, but none of the girls have tried as far as I know.

My BO is also the most vocal I've started noticing since she's started laying. She makes the weirdest squealing noise . . .like when you let air out of a balloon with the opening pinched . . . my other girls are fairly quiet unless they need a nestbox.

I just found out today that my 2 and 3 year old girls will have no part of a rooster. The rooster that has taken residence under the porch got a butt whoopin' and he got most of it from Peppa my black sex link. I told her good girl Peppa good girl. He tried to talk to Darlin and she just started telling him the what for and Peppa was just like dude that's my queen and you don't mess with her because I am right here. I was laughing at them. On another note my husband told me that he was thinking about maybe getting a cow for meat and I said but we have to get a heifer for milk. He just said but I don't have the time to take care of it. But I do come on let's get a cow we can do both LOL

I seriously thought my black BYM was getting all the action with the girls because I saw him mount them often. Turns out my lighter BYM is the girls favorite. Unfortunately he's also a bit of a wild card when it comes to temperament. He's never out right attacked me, but tests me from time to time just to see if I'm paying attention. So far his chicks have been healthy and sweet so I'll just have to keep him a bit longer.

I thought about keeping goats for milk since I'm lactose intolerant, but I have no idea what I'd do with all the babies you'd need to keep the goat producing milk.

Umm . . . does any know if there are solar powered brooder plates, or if there are any that connect to something other than a wall outlet?
