Both of my chickens have decided to lay in a corner of the coop instead of the nesting box. This has been happening for maybe 1-2 months now. I bought dummy eggs but their still laying in that same spot. Is there anything else i can do to get them to lay in the nesting box?

Is there a reason that you want them to lay in the nesting boxes? Is it hard to get to where they are laying? Is it in a dirty spot? If it is just so that they 'lay' in the nesting boxes maybe it isn't worth trying to train them?! I would just let them lay where they lay, unless I couldn't reach them, it was a gross area, other chickens are eating them etc.

They laid in the nesting box all the time until about 1-2 months ago. I’m building a new coop at the moment and want them to lay in the nesting box in that coop. I can’t reach them, my boyfriend has to do it because he has longer arms.

I knew you’d come to the rescue😂 i was thinking about blocking it off but they’re stubborn so you’re probably right with them laying right next to it 🙄
Doesn't hurt to try it! Maybe it'll get them to rethink laying in that corner in general, or... they'll just do as predicted lol.
