I'm going to get some of this for the flock. Does anyone here have experience with it? Would it be best mixed? Free choice?

Why are you feeding them salt, they should not need extra salt from what I know, which apparently is limited.

I use Redmond Mineral Conditioner on all my animals. I mix it in my chicken feed at 1% of the feed volume, and also have a bowl out for them to have more if they want. I don't know about the salt, I don't add any salt to my chicken feed.

Hmmm...This was recommended by some organic folks for the chickens. Upon further conversation, they use a small amount as a supplement. To quote them, "A 50 lb bag will last FOREVER." They don't use a commercial feed with added sodium, which is the reason for supplementing it. It also has a lot of trace minerals.

Thanks for the info. I checked out the conditioner on their site. Need to study up a bit on that as well.

BTW, do you happen to use the Redmond table and cooking salts? Very good stuff
