i reduced my flock from 21 to 17 . on tuesday and i have seen a drop in eggs. the most i got a day when i had 21 layers was 18 a day and since i rehomed 4 older hens iv got 9 eggs wendsday and 10 eggs thursday. 14 of my layers i have now are pullets all 8-9 months old. hopefully they will start laying again. i did change feed a week ago that could be something to do with it. its the same brand i just switched to crumbles instead of layer mash it has 1& higher protien. im in maine to and in the middle of winter maybe they are just waiting for warmer weather i have a light in the coop on a timer been useing it since october.

I have just 1 hen, she's a Black Austraulorp/ Gold comet mix. She's 6months old, and has started laying 2 eggs a day. I give her layer feed, and plenty of treats daily.

When you rehomed the hens, you changed the pecking order. They are a little stressed out until they get the pecking order under control again. Switching the feed may have contributed to it some. I wouldn't worry. They should pick back up soon.
