As I understand genetics of the rose comb phenotype, it shares the same locus as the allele coding for the single wild-type comb. I want reduce the size of the comb preferably while keeping the locus homozygous for the rose comb allele. Do the alleles for pea, button and cushion combs operate at same locus?
If not, then can comb size be reduced by introducing one or more of the other non single comb alleles to their respective loci?
Goal is to reduce comb size, preferably while retaining rose comb morphology.
