We are burying my FIL today. He passed away after a brief unexpected illness this past Wednesday. We are tired but getting through it ok.

I consoled myself this morning with 2 of my favorite things: my dogs and my camera. Hope you enjoy my results. It cheered me right up.

My condolences to you and your family. I often use my dogs and other animals to help bring me up when I'm down. Being outside watching them is the best therapy. Your pics are so fun to look at

Your Rottys are gorgeous!!! I have a female Rotty, and she is my sweetheart!

Thanks everyone. I am feeling very tired and deflated right now. It was a stressful sad day.

I have known Bill since 2003, and we had become very close over the last several years during his illnesses, surgeries, and recovery. I took him to almost all of his Dr. appts, and helped him with shopping, household stuff, etc. I cooked for him several nights per week.

I knew that Bill did not have much affection in his life, so each time I left, I made sure I gave him a hug and a kiss on the cheek. He clearly appreciated it, and also made sure quite often that I knew how thankful he was for all the things I did for him.

Not too long ago, he told me he loved me when I was leaving after taking him to the Dr. one morning. This was surprising coming from this crusty determined old fella, but I understood what it meant.

A relative came up to me at the grave site this afternoon to offer condolences, and told me that Bill spoke of me many many times, of all that I did for him, and how much he treasured it. I'm glad I got the chance to know him.

He will be greatly missed.
