Reestablishing Pecking Order?

When I go home from work, I went to sit with the girls a while. I have 6 sex links. All of my girls are friendly and most will jump on my lap except Penny. Penny wasn't acting quite herself and looked a little weak. By not acting like herself, I mean she jumped into my lap and sat with me a while. When she got down, I noticed the other girls would go after her and she would run to the back of the run. When she approached the feeder or waterer, she was chased away. I took the waterer to her, and she drank like crazy. I sat back down and she got back into my lap. When she wasn't in my lap, she was close by me.They all have been having squabbles all week. I understand the pecking order, but do they go as far as not letting another one eat or drink? I really think she was dehydrated because she was breathing with her mouth open and had her wings away from her body, like she was hot. None of the other girls did this. So odd because Penny has always been high up in the pecking order. I have to work tomorrow, so I have my husband to check on her and make sure she is getting something to drink and eat.

Sounds like she's at the very bottom of the pecking order.
Looks like someone else became dominating and became the new "queen" of the coop. Make sure she's getting enough food and water.

The pecking order can be a constantly changing thing. Those on the bottom are always looking to improve their position. Someone may have dethroned her, and the others may have taken advantage of the situation. Keep an eye on her to make sure that she is getting enough to eat and drink.
