I was wondering is there a cross reference chart on different breeds. So if I was to breed a white leghorns male with a Rhode island red hen what would I Get? Is there such a chart? Thanks Karl

Here's the link to the chicken calculator. If you use the "Show Examples" button you can generally find the color pattern you are looking for. Unless you are a genetic expert then you probably won't be able to use this for mixes.

White Leghorns are usually dominant white and RIR are red Columbian (towards the bottom of the examples list). Crossing anything to dominant white usually results in more white, sometimes with flecks of color.

Wow looks confusing LOL I will have to study it to see if I can figure it out.

Click on the tab that says M and pick your male, then click the tab that says F and pick your female. Go back to the main tab and hit calculate :)

The one linked above is the original calculator but I find the one that I linked to be much easier to use (it is the "new and improved")

Carl, I am not sure that would get you sex linked chicks.
I think you need a silver bird for that. one of the classic crosses is a Light Sussex cock over a Rhode Island Red hen.
that will give you Sex Linked chicks. the Light Sussex eWh/eWh Co/Co S/S
is silver based so that makes it very popular for making sex linked chicks.
Best,
Karen
