As 2009 comes to an end, lets hear what your best moment of the year was....

Mine was the decision to be a SAHM and fulltime farm gal. Money is tight but we are blessed in so many other ways that we hardly notice!

We rented a lake house for a week this past summer. It turned out to be one of the only decent weeks all summer. It was heaven. I felt so relaxed after that week.

I have to pick one????

The arrival of my grandson in July. The look on my husband's face, that I got a picture of, holding him the first time (we were in the hallway and got our hands on him less than 5 minutes old)

The day on the river, white water rafting, the two younger kids and hubby and I.

Profound moment? Watching the funeral of the Lakewood officers, and last roll call.

Finding BYC

Hatching my first baby

seriously, I could so go on.......

I got eight day old chicks and have successfully raised them ( as everyone thought I would loose one or two along the way) to serve my family in eggs and meat! I grew my first very large garden and was able to share the rewards with family and friends. But best of all I found BYC!
I also became a Grandma and me and DH were in the delivery room...became a step grandma and now will be a grandma again in August of 2010!
I could go on but will stop for now!

My best moments were when I had my oldest granddaughter out for the summer. I went by train to Chicago then drove to Bowling Green, KY, twice.....once to pick her up and once to take her home.

What a grand time we had, can't wait to do it again next summer!

My BEST moment? Gosh, I don't have one. To be honest, nothing really happens in my life. Yes I know, it's my fault. But at least I'm a relatively calm person.

I'm with Buff! I don't have just one, but the one thing that I consider to be a MAJOR accomplishment here is that my oldest graduated! For those of you who don't know, I homeschool and I consider it to be a HUGE accomplishment both for my son and myself to see him get his diploma from the online school he was doing his high school program through.

We broke ground on our future eco-friendly barn house, and camped for 4 months- kids and all. There's nothing like waking up in your garden and that first cup of coffee brewed on the camp stove. Roosters crowing, fresh mountain air, dew covered flowers. Ahhhhh!
It really made us appreciate the little luxuries we take for granted- like more than 2 minutes of hot water and a real bed

I made the leap and got my ducks.
Shortly after that I quit playing World of Warcraft after 4.5 years.... to be free!
My husband and I got closer.
I vacationed in Florida to see my family and grew close to my grandfather.
I got a new car! a 1994 Volvo station wagon!
I took a welding and blacksmithing class... it was most awesome.
I found BYC

In chronological order, not order of importance....

1) Swiping my timecard for the last time on Retirement Day
2) Settling in a small mountain community
3) The good life we have here
4) The birth of our first grandson on Nov 30.
5) Our first snow here.
