Going to pick up my new silkies in the am. It has been a year since I did had little ones, and although I've re-read my notes, I thought it best to double check with you guys.

I have a little brooder box that I am going to line with layers of paper towels and aspen shavings (covered by more paper towels so there is a layer effect happening there). I will have a heat lamp to assure they a temp of about 95 degrees (they are about a week old), and will adjust this to drop by 5 degrees each week. I will assure that they have a "cooler" side to go to so they do not get to hot. I will give them chick starter and plenty of fresh water , and place it so that it doesn't get too hot under the heat lamp. Maybe a little plain yogurt in a couple of weeks. If I notice pasty butt (which both my silkies got last time) I will add ACV to the water, gently clean their little vents with warm water, and if it gets as bad as last time, rub a littl baby oil on them.

I will fawn over them obsessively, enjoy them immensly, and cuddle with them as much as is humanly possible.

I will also pray fervently that at least two of them are females!!!!!!!!!!!!

Am I missing anything??
