How old can pullets and cockarels start eating table scraps (lettuce, eggs, veggies). I know that it has to be minimal until at least 6 months - but is there an age before that they can start? THey look so bored in their run without treats. THe previous flock ate up all the grass to the point grass don't grow in the run anymore. They don't free range - a lot of roaming dogs here. I want to hang a cabbage or something for them. Thanks! [IMG]

You will get many diff. answers to this question. My hen showed my babies treats {bugs, worms, berries ect.} on their very first outing. That was almost 4 weeks ago and they are still fine. They were 1 week old at the time. Now when I go by their pen I throw some mulberries in and they come a runnin. Just be sure they have some grit of some kind.
