regarding Rhode Island Hen EGGS

HELLO!!!
I have a couple of Rhode Island Hens and they are laying light brown eggs, I would like to know why are they laying those eggs and not brown eggs.

I have 6 RIRs and some lay light brown eggs while some lay darker brown.

Maybe post pics of your hens so we can confirm they're really Rhode Island Reds?

My RIR is laying a lighter brown than my GSL. And one day a mysterious very-light brown egg appeared, which I thought was from my Australorp, but judging by the laying pattern my RIR is showing, it coulda been hers and was just a bit lighter than her usual eggs. Is that possible?

We have two RIR mixes - we were told they were mixes but they sure look like pure bred RIRs - one lays light brown eggs with white speckles and the other lays eggs that are either a really dark sandy color, reddish, or purplish. Makes for a lovely assortment
