Thanks, I like 'em with substance! Hope to have this one hitched this year. He's going well under saddle and line drives, so it shouldn't be too hard.

has he got the head for it?... meaning not quick to spook?

He would make an Awesome Combined driving pony.

He won won all sorts of awards under saddle on the flat and over fences at his first show after just three weeks of training, so I would say that he has the right mind for it.

Wouldn't say that he's bomb-proof, but he's pretty darn close. Truth be told, I don't think I've ever seen him really spook. Got a couple that I would never dream of driving, they're just way too hot and/or flighty, but this and a few other will make nice driving ponies.

Combined driving is something we'd like to try, and he should do well in the dressage because he is a wonderful mover.

Katee went to her very first show after she had been in harness about six weeks. She does spook but its a slo mo thing... The big guys though when they get their fight or flight on the can move PDQ. The only thing that bothered her was a big hitch horse stomping up behind her. Those big harnesses make alot of noise. and with those scotch bottomed shoes on each foot fall was thunderous. She broke a couple of times when one fellow did that. I think it was on purpose.

Funny thing is I teach my horses to canter in harness. So I know how it feels and they know how it feels and that its no big deal... Those big hitch horses are never allowed to canter and when they do it can get very interesting quick. She is very good with a half halt. I drive in a Pelham of all things. its her favorite bit. With a single rein adaptor of course.

He should be awesome in harness. I cant wait can you share progress as you go.?
