Regarding turning eggs by hand

I quickly candled last night. There is no veining that I can see. All is dark. The egg did jump several times yesterday. Still no internal pip. Today is day 27-28. I'm worried about mal-positioning especially since its aircell is on the small end and side. Should I do a small airhole in big side?

if theres no internal pip, dont make any air holes. Do you see any bruising or colour change on the egg/outside the air cell?
There's nothing you can really do yet, since baby is just a little behind, its possible that any prolonged cool spells during incubation or the incubator temp being a little cool could have caused a slower development. This would mean a late hatch-
At this stage, when the egg is full, its normal to not see veins, but you should hopefully see some little flicker movements from the baby against the air cell.

if there is no movement that you can see, and you're worried, you could take a photo of the egg being candled, but you'd need to be very gentle, making sure you dont turn the egg, and put the egg back inside the same position it was before. Candle from the air cell if you do this- I hadn't realised before that the air cell was on the pointy end, I must've read wrong initially- I'd be interested to see what's going on in there.

Thankyou. I'll keep you posted.

Update. No veins for a couple days and no action. There was still fluid and no flicker of life. So I went through the top of their air cell. It was moist and could be pulled back and there was yolk. And not any veins on the duck membrane. So I tried to locate head. The whole time, there is no bleeding or not any veins holding blood. I find the head curled around toward the back and away from the side where the aircell was. I think he was ready to hatch but couldn't get to the air cell. Perfectly formed but lifeless. So sad. Well his shell had a whole lot of patching done and the aircell was on the wrong end and the side. Not a drop of blood anywhere. I'm so very sad. I did all I could to save him.

Im sorry for your loss :(

Thank you. And thanks for being supportive. It was miraculous it did as well as it did. Here's a picture of the patched up egg with nail polish and wax in the dented area. The wax end is the pointy end. There was a very small air cell there then the pencil area was the side aircell. It grew much larger than what is pictured here.
