Tell me your pros and cons for coffee grounds as bedding! Im really considering using it in my coop.

Same I couldn't find the Grounds brand anywhere so I went with the Java on amazon (my poor mail carrier haha) but in my 8x16 run coop combo I did 2 inches of construction sand first and then raked 4 bags of the Java bedding into it for the odor control and absorbency but without having to buy so much and same my poop shelf is just 2 bags of the Java, a bag of sweet PDZ and sprinkled with first Saturday lime. I was surprised how fine the Java brand bedding was so keeping an eye out for respitory irritation after dust bathing especially for youngsters like you said it may have caused some sneezing in my 3 week olds when i brought them out to the run for a field trip but I do love that it feels sooo soft to the touch very easy to scoop with the kitty litter scoop shovel hahaI use the "Grounds" bedding on theshelves and mix it with Sweet PDZ (so I can see the poops better - and make it last longer - it can be very difficult to find a lot of the time). I love the stuff. It smells great, it's not dusty, and it lasts forever. Plus, it's compostable!
The con is what I mentioned above. Rural King is the only place that sells it in my state, and most of the time it's out of stock (and when it's out of stock, it is out for MANY months) - The company that makes it is not super consistent. I also would not use it for baby chicks (I think people do, I'm just not comfortable with it).
There is another product on Amazon called "Java" (I think) and I have used that as well. It Is much finer than the Grounds brand (it's sold more as a garden amendment than coop litter), and it's more expensive for less product.
If you can find it regularly at a good price, I say try it out! If you have a large coop and are planning to use it on the floor, you'll need a lot to make it several inches deep (for soft landing off roosts). When it's in stock at RK, I usually buy 6-8 bags (because I never know when it's going to be available) and it lasts me a LOOOONG time (I have 19 chickens in a 10'x12' coop).
