Reintroducing hens

Hello All,

I have a recently injured 8 month old Australorp hen. Any suggestions on the best way to reintroduce her into the flock(6 other hens). I've heard that putting the hen back into the coop at night may be the least stressful.

Other ideas?

The only other way that I know of is to cage the returning bird in the center of the coop and let them slowly get used to seeing her again for 2 or 3 days. She will need her own food and water in there of course.
