Hey guys! So I have a rooster I have been trying to integrate into a flock. He is on his first day and doing well. However I realized during this process, he’s been released into a coop with a broody hen that he has never seen and she has never seen him. Is this going to be an issue? Will he kill her or will she stop being broody.

He is familiar with the other hens. But I just want to make sure all is well.

If he tries to kill her, he goes to freezer camp.
Can't you just take him out?
I can, but with the price of chicks and hatching eggs, I’m trying to get him to breed with my available hands so I can have more chicks because I haven’t really been able to get any this year

I guess this isn’t really even an issue. My hens are actually trying to a beat him up instead. So 🤷‍♀️. I guess that’s an uno reverse on the situation

How did this work out?
It was just fine!! She couldn’t see him during the day but he was sleeping with her in her box every night! :) very cute

I will say at the time of releasing I did have a head honcho hen who was not ready to let go of pecking order and was protective of the flock so I’m sure that helped.

I also make sure I have a nice Roo.

Thanks for asking. :)
