Releasing Quail Chicks to Corturnix Couple hanging around

If I were to put the chicks outside at 4 weeks would another adult quail couple hanging around adopt them? Is there a better place to release them than a rescue?

What kind of quail are you talking about?

I see two serious problems here:
1 - if these are coturnix quail, they will simply die
2 - if they are a native species of quail, this is illegal

Please contact your local fish/wildlife department to see what the procedures are for this.

Thank you for your reply. They are Coturnix and I will take them to the rescue. I do not want them to die. I’ve been nurturing them to live!

Coturnix quail are domestic, so your animal shelter will be a good choice for them. Hopefully they will find a good home.

Where did you get them? I used to have coturnix quail and I could only find them from breeders or as eggs. And coturnix quail don’t go broody often so the chances of another quail adopting your chicks are very slim, especially considering there age. I hope you can find them a home.

Oh and I found a nest in my tall patio pot and watched the egg count and after 8 days and no change and no mother sitting there I feared it was abandoned so I got an incubator. I truly thought none would even hatch after so long and our high temps in AZ.
