Releasing Wood Ducks back into the wild

Any information about releasing Wood ducks back into the wild would be helpful, especially at what age, what time year, etc.

I have 6 juvenile Wood ducks approximately 3+ months old, and 9 ducklings who are 6 weeks old. I haven't been successful in finding homes for these guys, and thought releasing them would be a good alternative.

When they can fly on their own, they roost in trees.

That's actually illegal in most states. I would check the NC regs...

yes be sure and check your states regulations, usually selling, or releasing is illegal without the proper permits. Just having them can be illegal as well is you didn't get the proper paperwork from the person that sold/gave them to you, or if they were taken from the wild.
