Relocating my 3 babies...will they freak out?

At a very last minute notification, I have to move. I’m looking everywhere for a similar environment to what I have, but it’s hard to come by. Will they be ok living in a large cage until I can figure something out? I refuse to leave them behind! Either the place I find accepts”us” or it’s out of the question. I just don’t want to stress them out!! They have been free range and I’m afraid taking that away will kill all of us!

Chickens are pretty tuff. Try to keep them on thier routine as much as possible. I have 4ft. High portable dog play pens. Some of my chickens don't have runs..so I set the little pens up all over the yard for fresh grass. They know the rountine pretty good. I can usually set them up for a couple of weeks b4 they decimate the grass. I also keep a net on the top to keep hawks out.

How many birds do you have?
Oh, duh, 3...how old are they?

Will you be able to take their coop with you?
How long before you have to move...are you renting?

You could find them a good home or a temporary home while you go thru this move. Moving is stressful. It is also stressful trying to find the right place. Make your life and theirs easier. Chickens won't be stressed for the same reasons you are and will adapt.
