Relocating

If I was original poster, I'd be figuring out how the opossum is getting in, and fixing it. If you have opossum, then you normally have racoons. They are far more detrimental to a flock. Fix the predator entrance, and just kick the opossum out. So you dont need to re locate it..

Predator proofing a coop is easier, than trying to trap and kill them. They are a never ending battle.
That’s what we haven’t figured out yet. Wire all around into the ground. No holes in fence or ground. The only thing I can think of is the chunk is climbing a little maple tree and coming in with an air assault 🤣. As for trapping 2 times in one week I found him curled up napping like that. So I’m sure he will do it again. Then I’ll just grab him up and move him

Wow that is quite the picture, a pitbull snuggling with a possum! Love it! And I can't believe how pretty that

Could be climbing the side or tree. Although they aren't as crafty as racoons, they can get where they wanna go.

Sounds like he is probably just climbing the fence if there is no top. If you fix the issue with there being no top, you don't have to relocate him. They are very good tick eaters, and they eat rats, mice, and other things you don't want around. They are natures little cleaner uppers. In fact, eggs may not be the only thing attracting him to the coop, he might have found himself a nice family of mice to feast on. Because otherwise, I can't figure why he hasn't tried to go for your chickens, unless he is currently eating vermin. 🤔
