I don’t know whether this has been done here before, but I thought it might be nice to share some happy memories of our departed, beloved feathered friends. Let’s keep it positive and remember the good times. Please post a picture of your girl (or boy) and share a fun or funny story, favorite characteristic or personality trait... something that made your pet special. It might be a little therapeutic for us. I’ll start.
This was my little New Hampshire Red, Rusty. She was feisty, yet a gentle flock leader before she got sick.
She was actually the only of my original four who was not a lap sitter, but she had this adorably sweet little call she made every night at bedtime, as if to say, “bed time, girls!” She also had a special friendship with my puppy, Lexi. She always kept Lexi in her place, but was also impressed by Lexi’s mad digging skils. They had a hilariously cute relationship. Rusty was quite the fighter, but was my first loss. She will always and forever hold a special place in my heart.
