Remodeling old coop. *PHOTOS ADDED*

Ooooooh! We were thinking about getting some pygmy goats, but it was either them or a garden and I decided on a garden. Your place sounds like fun!!
You're right about the wires. And I didn't even think about the feeders because they're eating different things. The older ones are eating laying crumbles and the guy at the feed store told me to feed the chicks grain. I think we'll split the coop for now - That seems to be the best idea.

The chicks should be eating baby chick food too I believe. The hens loved the chick food beware.

And Scratch is like Crack for Goats.... OH MY GAWD.... Yeh goats are too funny and its not just the garden they are capable of destroying.... Little escape artists will taste anything they can reach.... or Pull down. Though it is a hoot to take them for walks in the rocks. My journeys out there taught me why shepherds use those long poles.... its for self defence... to act as a buffer between you the cliff and two goats that decided to play king of the hill. I have three Nigerian Dwarfs and one Pygmy. The Nigerians are smaller weight wise they are all about the same height. Little trouble makers... Love them to death.

I put some chicks out with the hens and the hens were interested in what the chicks were doing, but started pecking them so we split the coop. The chicks are having such a good time scratching around and digging up dirt for their dirt baths! The hens are still interested in them but I feel better that they can watch with chicken wire in between them. We had the guy come over that's going to help with the coop and he said that he'll be able to start on it next week.

Yeah, I've heard lots of things about goats and that's why I thought a garden and new chicks would be enough for us right now! I'm sure they have lots of fun out there exploring the land - I know that I would!
