remove dead eggs?

My CPG has 4 totally dark eggs she's been sitting on for a month. I assume they're all dead - no air pocket, no movement. Should I dispose of them all and will she try a new nest or will taking her eggs drive her crazy? I would really like to remove them before they explode. She is 2 yrs old and abandoned last year's nest at 3 weeks. No gift this Mother's Day. TIA

Have you candled them? Some eggs can hatch at 31 days.

I did and all were dark and still. I did get rid of them yesterday - long overdue as they exploded when I tossed them into the field next door (empty hay field). I thought rotten eggs were the worst smell I'd experienced but dead eggs - dry, green grey interiors, are much worse. Won't wait so long next time to check.
