Removed all eggs from nest box

I got some fake eggs and wrote “fake ” & “not fake ” on them. Lol. The Not fake was supposed to be a joke when my husband checked on the eggs. But, he never mention it.
I have 3 nest boxes and put the eggs in 2 of them. The girls decided they only like one nest box. So, I removed the other fake egg. At least I have an extra one if needed.

I use plastic Easter eggs in various colors, put a rock or three inside for weight and glue it shut. Nobody but the chickens could mistake them for the real thing and they're cheap. I don't use them any longer than the young pullet stage, though -- they get stored with the brooding supplies.

I use golf balls. I noticed when I took them out thinking they didn’t need them anymore that they started to lay inside the coop. Once I put them back in they used the nesting boxes. Haven’t had any issues since.
