Removing ducklings from their Mum?

At what age would you remove ducklings raised by their Mum? We have 4 pekin ducklings who are now 5 weeks old and are starting to lose their fluff. At the moment they live with Mum in a large pen to protect them from predators. We have friends who would like to adopt them, at what age can they leave the safety of their Mum?

aw, so cute! honestly some remove right after hatching, i prefer to wait to 6wks at the least but i admit i have left the mama's here to self wean her kids so they are usually older if the mum is a good one.

So no reason, not to now.. if that is what you desire. Answers and methods will completely vary on this.

anywhere from 3-to 6 weeks depends on the mama.
