After perusing some other threads I think I'm okay but I'm a nervous first time chicken owner so I'd appreciate the confirmation!

Our chicks are 3 weeks old today. They still have their heating plate but I'd like to try remove it soon. The room they are in is generally warmer than the rest of the house with temperatures ranging from 65-75 depending on time of day. If I were to remove the plate tomorrow, will they likely be okay in these temperatures? This is a potentially silly question but do they need somewhere to sleep? I feel as if they've gotten used to sleeping under something! Or will they just sleep in a chick pile?

Thank you all in advance for your help! This forum is incredibly helpful!

Try just unplugging it for a few days, that way if you see they're chilled you can just plug it back in with little fanfare. I have chicks that age out in the unheated shed so I will unplug the heat plates during warm days and then plug them back in at night for a little while if it's still chilly overnight. Once they're fully feathered they just don't use it. If you have a way to give them a little roost in the brooder they may start sleeping on the roost at night.
