(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
My first chickens were two little chicks that I raised in my bedroom in a large toilet paper box in 1967 while I was in high school. I have had chickens off and on since then. Now I am a senior and have a coop with 17 chickens. I love them all and they all have names. I am looking to order 10 more babies in the next few weeks or as soon has I clean up the nursery and get things ready.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 15 hens and 2 roosters. I let two hens hatch some eggs last summer and ended up with two roosters. I will try not to do that again.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love watching them dig around in the yard and take dust bathes, I love the crowing and cackling and the fresh eggs are a wonderful bonus.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am the eldest daughter. I have two sisters and a brother. I am a widow since 2005, I moved to Northern Nevada from Southern California to be near my family after my husband died.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC when I came to Nevada and got my first chickens in 2007 or 08. I joined back then but couldn't remember my info so I just didn't sign in again until I needed to buy some new chickens.
