Rent A Coop feeder

I do not, but wanted to mention that we made one of the 5g bucket feeders that uses pvc elbows (somewhat similar to the one you linked to)...found that rodents were getting into the feeder thru the feeding holes. I immediately bought a ratproof feeder as I didn't want rodents in the chicken feed,

why didn’t you just buy a couple pvc caps to plug the holes at night?

Anyone use this feeder? https://shoprentacoop.com/collectio...roducts/20-lb-capacitytwo-port-chicken-feeder
I’m sure we could make one cheaper, but would love to hear some reviews from my BYC peeps. :)

No. But I've been thinking about getting a kit of six of those ports and making my own with 2 medium size plastic bins we already have. I have read about rats and birds getting into them. It is rare. My preference is to use cheapest idea first. If you decide to get one, I would very much like to know what you think of it.

I am going to show it to my handy husband and see if he would like to just make one. If not, I will likely just go ahead and buy it.

If he doesn't have the time, would you enjoy trying to make one yourself? There are a few methods of cutting the holes out for the ports. I don't want to try using the saver saw. I'm concerned i couldn't apply enough control. I might consider using the hole saw. I've used drills before. I would prefer trying to cut the port holes out with an adjustable knife. Can't remember just now what they're called. I know my husband or son-in-law would be willing to cut the port holes. But I would enjoy the feeling of self accomplishment.
