Hello From the Central Coast of California.

I have been keeping chickens for almost three years now. It was not planned but my husbands family were evicted from their place with only a 3 day notice and my husband showed up with 19 chickens.

Overnight he built a coop with scrap materials, on a hillside he tiered it. It worked out perfect.

In the beginning I didnt have anything to do with the keeping of chickens but in the spring my husband wanted me to order chicks. I decided we needed blue eggs in the mix of all the brown eggs. So we got 10 ameraucana chicks.

From there the chickens became mine. Since then it has been an ever evolving flock, to obtain the perfect rainbow of eggs and acquiring some pretty ladies in there too.

Now I have a little over 30 birds, a few broodys and some growing out chicks.

I spend all free time sourcing out my next addition, learning new keeping ideas ect.

My friends and family affectionately call me the Chicken Chica. instead of the crazy chicken lady.

Have a great day.
