You're welcome! I hope to see more of those tortoise brothers :p

How big do they get?
Thank you!
Mine are actually all about 800g = about 1,8 pounds and their shells are kind of a bit smaller than a breakfast plate. Those tortoises grow their whole lives, but how older they get so lesser is the growth visually noticeable. Males are smaller than females and how big they get depends also on the breeding lines/where their wild ancestors came from. Mum of my 5 siblings was huge (and old), biggest Greek tortoise I ever got to know. Dad also was really big compared to my boys. My sister has two boys who are also bigger than all of mine.

Anyone here breed their own feeder insects?
I just started a small dubia roach colony. There’s quite a few new babies already.

Awesome! I just bulk ordered some mealworms so I’m going to try to breed those as well.
I have a dubia colony too! They are the main feeder insect for my beardie.
How’s yours going? Mine is smaller than what I usually see recommended, but my leopard and day gecko don’t eat enough to warrant me wanting to have a big colony lol

It is doing great! Ours is fairly small too. Tad (the beardie) eats about 6 adult roaches a week so we don’t need a ton. Buying them from the pet store was super expensive though and they often ran out so I love always having them on hand now. We keep the roach colony in a 20 gallon long tank that formerly housed our leopard gecko before we upgraded him to a bigger tank.

You feed dubias to your Leo? Does he like them? We feed them to Hoshi (our Leo) occasionally but he seems to have trouble catching them :hmm The beardie loves them though.
