So, we are moving and the past owners left stuff at the house. Hubby was ready to throw it all out (it was mostly "junk") and is also trying to pitch stuff as we pack our current house. I keep stopping him, saying "that could be used for..."
I swear, I am NOT a packrat, but why should I go spend $$ on something new when I could have used something I already had?
I have seen some really creative uses here, and I thought it'd be fun to have a thread where you submit a pic of a random item, and people can suggest new uses for it. Anyone game?

When replying with suggestions, be sure to quote the original post so we know what item you are suggesting uses for!

I made what seemed like the largest - and ugliest - chicken feeder I've ever seen, out of cardboard boxes. It was made of boxes because it was only meant to be temporary, and that's exactly how it turned out to be; it worked perfectly while it lasted, fell apart after about two weeks, much longer than the trip out of town I had planned. Wish I had pictures, that thing was heee-uge!

I took a rabbit hutch and added on some extra parts to make it spacious enough to house up to two birds for quarantine purposes. I still have it today and I will go out and get some pics for you, but I'm warning you... it's pretty tacky!

I've used those takeaway contaniers for chick feeders before. Fugly but functional

I re-purposed a camper trailer into a utility trailer. Pretty much gutted the thing and replaced the rotten floor with 3/4 treated plywood. I use it for hauling loads of yard waste, scrap metal, and have moved my daughter with it. This trailer is ugly but it is effective for what I need it for.

Most recently my DW and I have done it to a pack-n-play (for small children) and used it for a bed for the newborn puppies (who are now 7 weeks old).

Great ideas, but not quite the "game" I was thinking. Let me try again -
Post a pic of some random item, and the rest of us can suggest new uses for it. Doesnt have to be chicken related, but if so, great!

1. Coat with primer
2. get small shallow trays
3.place different coloured paint in shallow trays
4. place primer insulation on ground
5. take chicken
6. dip chicken feet in coloured paint
7. let chicken walk on insulation
8. sell for millions - artistic clicken renderings.
