My friend’s broody chicken just hatched 3 little chicks, they are in front yard same coop with other chickens. First day, 1 died , didn’t see any cut or blood, 2nd day, another one disappeared no blood or feathers. So I took last one away from Mom chicken , put this baby to my 3 weeks old flocks . First time I put hand to her, she bite my hand so hard like her Mom protect her. I made her calm down , give her worm. 2nd day, she was nice to me and followed me around, we are from enemies to friends. Today is 3rd day. She is so sweet. Trying so hard to eat and running to keep up with older chicks. She is happy maybe forget her Poor Mom. But eventually I will return her back to her Mom when she is stronger enough to protect herself.

Very cute. 🥰 If I had the same situation, I would not return the chick to the mom. It’s safe with your chicks. There’s too many bad things to happen. First of all, she likely won’t accept it back. Second, her 2 other chicks were killed, so keep it safe with you. Keep us updated.

Yes I will keep her till adult. She is trying hard to keep up older friends and be social

She looks very happy with her new little flock. 😊 Please post again as she grows, and let us know how they’re all doing.
