Rescue Chickens?

Hi, I've heard quite a few people mention that they have a a rescue chicken. I was just wondering how you rescued yours. I was thinking that it might be really cool to make an entire flock made of rescue chickens. I'd love to hear everyone's experience and imput.

You can look for a shelter that has chickens. I know a few around me have some. Maybe you could also go to a farm sanctuary. Not all of them will let you adopt though.

This is a kind thing to do; however, make sure to get them all from the same source at the same time to limit the possibility of disease. It is amazing to see 'spent' layers become 'real' chickens.

I would take my time to get all of these chickens I'd adopt to live a satisfying life. It wouldn't matter if I got 1 egg from 20 chickens. I'd do my very best to keep them safe and happy. I also would heavily monitor and even quarantine newbies to prevent sickness.
