Hello!

We just adopted a handicapped duck. Because of his handicap, he's taken a beating to his legs/wings.

My two biggest concerns are his toe area which looks "dead" and where he's damaged his leg.

I will get him into a vet, but there is only one in our state. Any help in the meantime would be great!

The toe area looks to have healed well, and shouldn't need any intervention. If he were mine, I'd first work on the toenails, and try to trim those down as much as you can without hitting the quick. With the abrasion on his tarsometatarsus, I would start applying an antibacterial ointment, or cream daily to prevent the onset of infection. If you notice swelling, erythema, near the abrasion it is possible bacteria were able to penetrate further into the tissue, in which case the bird would need antibiotics.
