Rescue duckling ID

Got a knock on the door at 8pm asking if we’d take in this duckling who’s sibling got killed by a dog.

Of course we took em in! They had no info they could give me about it but I’m guessing it’s 3 weeks ish. But I am curious on the breed. I was thinking Anacona or magpie? But I haven’t had either of those so I’m not sure. I do know it did come from a feed store, they couldn’t tell me which so I can’t even look at a breed list. Any input is appreciated!

So sad!

But he’s doing great. First night he was distraught but yesterday and today he’s doing well. Happy chirping and cuddling his mirror

I would love that! But I’m thinking it’s too much black and it’s black spots are too random to be a silver apple yard but I’ll keep my fingers crossed cause these are on my want list lol

What an adorable little guy It is probably an Appleyard or magpie. Appleyard, I bet on the most but the chances of magpie is still good! Thank you for taking care of him

Really?? Ok, I hadn’t even thought appleyard until the couple suggestions here.

I’ll update pics once new feathers come in. Thanks everyone for the input!
